We’re always interested in people who share the same interests that we do and that’s why we decided to put together a list of Hollywood celebrities that love to cook as much as we do.
You’ll be interested to know that there are quite a few celebrities who were actually chefs at some point in their lives before they hit the big screen. There are also those who originally wanted to cook professionally but got diverted, and lastly, those who are simply passionate about cooking. Here are a few of them:
Those Who Once Wore a Toque
Daniel Craig. Can you picture James Bond holding a ladle? Daniel Craig, who played Secret Agent 007 in James Bond films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace (Lara Croft, Road to Perdition, Munich, Layer Cake and The Golden Compass), used to be a chef. He’s so into the craft that he can’t effectively cook for just a few people, because he’s so used to cooking for 20 or more. As he once said, “cooking is something that gets in your blood—even these days, when I enter a working kitchen, a shiver runs down my spine.”
Matthew Modine. If you remember Private Joker in Full Metal Jacket and Birdy, then it might be hard to picture Modine as a chef. He used to be a chef at Au Natural in Manhattan, and in a recent interview in Metro UK, he said he still feels the same way he did when he was a chef in his own personalized apron. “I’m still the same person who worked as a chef to finance my acting school…when I’m at a party, I’m actually more comfortable to stay in the kitchen talking to the staff rather than be out there…” he said.
They Almost Wore One!
Toby McGuire. Spiderman originally wanted to be a chef but his mother convinced him to do something else. “My mom always wanted to be an actress, so she thought I could be one for her. I really wanted to be a cook like my pop…but she wanted me to take drama instead,” said McGuire.
Christopher Walken. We remember Christopher Walken in so many films that we’ve lost count of them all, but among our favorites are A View to Kill, Catch Me If You Can, Pulp Fiction, Wedding Crashers and Click. There has been reports on the web that Walken has been a chef, but we couldn’t find any proof to back that up. But yes, his name always shows up in the list of famous stars who cook.
They Simply Love To Cook
Blake Lively. Yup, spoiled and ridiculously rich Serena of Gossip Girls can cook. She took up cooking and baking lessons in Paris’ Cordon Bleu because she loves to put on her personalized apron and show off her skills to her peers and family. And, as rumors have it, it’s one of the reasons why her current beau Leonardo de Caprio likes her.
Matthew McConaughey. Matthew McConaughey, famous for his romantic comedies Failure to Launch, The Wedding Planner and Fool’s Gold, McConaughey loves to spend as much as two hours a day in the kitchen, cooking with his wife, and claims that “cooking fuels his soul.”
