Bib aprons give extra protection as compared to the waist ones. As they cover the entire front portion of the body, they guarantee protection for the chest, stomach, and legs. They normally have a loop on the top which is placed around the neck and a string to tie around the waist. These types of Aprons are one of the most popular ones with even children being made to use them. Bib Aprons are also the most widely used Restaurant Aprons.
Cobbler aprons are a step further than the bib Aprons. They have two sides to them and protect the front as well as the back of the wearer. Material Used For Aprons

The two most common materials used for Aprons are cotton and canvas. Be it domestic purpose, a restaurant, or a retail market, this is the type that can be most commonly spotted. There are industries where cotton or canvas does not serve the purpose. For example, metal workers, stone workers, or blacksmiths wear specialized leather Aprons. Where X-rays are involved, workers will have to wear lead waist aprons in order to protect the reproductive organs from the harms of radiation. There are industries where waterproof aprons are required.

Aprons are mainly worn as a protective gear, no matter where it is used. They are widely available in the market and easy to purchase. In worst cases, if you cannot get one, use your towel or any old thick cloth to make one at home. Might not be very stylish, but will serve the purpose.
